So you’ve just been promoted. Now what?? The OSFM Fire Officer courses are excellent to prepare you in the classroom, but they lack the hands - on skills new officers need to excel in their new positions. This 40 - hour hands - on course will give the student the information & practical applications to help the complete the transition from firefighter to officer. The goal of this real - world course will be to identify and share the skills that current officers wish they would of known prior to getting promoted or placed into an acting officer role. 

Topics covered in this course include single & multi - company runs encompassing everything from alarms & CO calls all the way up to structure fires – and every-thing in between. While the class includes some classroom time, it focuses mostly on hands - on skills including live - fire evolutions. It is the perfect course for new officers, firefighters on promotional lists, those that aspire to become officers, or even veteran officers looking to get more hands - on practice. This course is not available for certification through the OSFM.
