Fire Department Incident Safety Officer
Full Description
This important class will be taught to the NFPA 1500/1521 standard and will cover the roles and responsibilities of individuals assigned as the incident safety officer. The course will cover topics such as incident action plans, overall incident strategy, risk management, firefighter safety, reading smoke and building construction. Company officers and incident commanders are responsible for the safety of the individuals they supervise and that responsibility must be taken seriously. This course is a prerequisite for the IL-OSFM Advanced Fire Officer Certification.
