Parkway Tree Planting Program

Public Works Department Highlights Posted on March 16, 2026

Have you recently noticed a white marking along the curb and flag in your parkway and live in one of the following neighborhoods: Misty Ridge; Lakewood Estates; Marquette Landings; Marquette Estates; Malibu Bay; Heritage Place or Poplar Ridge?

If so, this signifies the location of where the Village intends to install a parkway tree. Letters have been mailed out to property owners noting which species of tree has selected for each planting location. Species have been selected to promote diversity. The placement of parkway trees has been set based upon the Village ordinances. Parkway trees provide significant environmental, economic and social benefits which include improved air quality, enhanced stormwater management, increased property values, lower energy bills by providing shade, and improved public health by reducing stress.

Plantings are scheduled to begin the week of April 6th, weather permitting. If you have any questions or concerns about the information provided, please contact the Village of Romeoville Public Works at (815) 886-1870. Thank you for your patience while we create a stronger, healthier urban forest for years to come.
