Opening a New Water Account
To open a new water account you must fill out an "application for service" application for service form at Village Hall, 1050 W. Romeo Rd. Village Hall is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

If you own the home, you will need to provide a copy of your warranty deed, if it is not currently on file with the Village.

If you are renting the home, you will need a copy of your lease, your landlord's name, address and telephone number and a $100 security deposit. 

Please note: To open a Utility Account in a tenant's name, a current rental Inspection must be on file with the Village of Romeoville Police Department (Code Enforcement Division), naming the current tenant of the property. To schedule a Rental Inspection, please call 815-886-7215.

 Setting up new Water/Sewer Accounts - Owner

Please notify the Water Billing Department at 815-886-7212 with the following information:

  • Closing Date of Property
  • Owner Name, address, phone number and driver's license number
  • Billing Phone Number

A water deposit will be required when purchasing property in the Village. The deposit will stay with that account until the owner sells the property and the final bill has been paid. At that point, we will refund that deposit back to the resident.

Setting up new Water/Sewer Accounts - Renter

Come into Village Hall, 1050 W Romeo Road with the following:

  • Copy of the lease
  • $100 deposit

When Renting Property in Romeoville

The owner of the property must call Code Enforcement to schedule their rental inspection at 815-886-7215.
