    2. Incentive Program Application

      VILLAGE OF ROMEOVILLE

    4. Description:

      The goal of the Incentive Program is:

      • To attract viable, beneficial and desired businesses to vacant building space, development sites and under utilized property corridors.
      • To back-fill vacant building space; and
      • Encourage rehabilitation and modernization of older shopping centers.

      Types of Business and Developments that may qualify for incentives:

      • A restaurant or retail business that is newly located in Romeoville;
      • Examples of eligible types of businesses include:
        • Soft Goods
        • Full-Service Grocery Stores
        • Electronics and Appliances
        • Furniture
        • Home Improvement
        • Hotel
        • Specialty Retail
        • Sporting Goods
        • Retail Entertainment
        • E-Commerce Hubs
        • Existing retail shopping centers older than 12 years on land in excess of two acres with occupancy rates below 85 percent; or vacant former grocery or “big-box” stores in excess of 25,000 square feet of building space.
