The Property Tax Rebate Program returns for the third year in a row. This program allows owner occupants of residential properties within the municipal boundaries of the Village of Romeoville to apply for a rebate. Qualifying applicants will receive a $100 rebate toward the Village portion of their property tax bill, an increase of $20 from last year. The application period will run from Sept. 1 through Dec. 1, 2026.

To det ermine if you qualify for a refund, please complete the application by clicking here between  Sept. 1 and Dec. 1 and attach a copy of your 2025 property tax bill or proof of payment.

All applications are subject to approval and only owner-occupied, single-family residential properties are eligible. Commercial and rental properties are not eligible. Property owners must have paid their 2025 property tax bill in full and be current on all payments owed to the Village, including tickets, fines, fees, and past-due water and sewer bills.

Those approved for a property tax rebate will receive $100 within two weeks of application either by check or as a credit on their water bill. The Village of Romeoville accounts for approximately 10 percent of a typical property tax bill, with the remainder going to other taxing bodies. 3. Physical Copy:Pick up a physical copy at Village Hall, 1050 W. Romeo Rd. Complete and submit to the Finance Dept. Submit the application to the Finance Dept. by December 1, 2026. 

Applications received after December 1st will not be accepted.
