Aquatic Fitness Class Descriptions
3/4 POWER HOUR : This dynamic class is designed to keep you moving at 75% of your maximum effort for an effective balance of cardi, strength and endurance.
50/50: You can do it all in this well-rounded class that guides participants through intervals of power, strength, and cardio!
ABS IN ACTION: This fun, focused water workout targets your abs using standing, floating, and wall-supported exercises—with and without equipment. You’ll engage your entire core through low-impact movements that build strength, improve balance, and boost posture using the water's resistance.
AQUA AGILITY: Challenge your core and balance while suspended in the pool using water belts.
AQUA CARDIO: Get your heart pumping and feel the benefits of cardio exercise with minimal equipment required.
AQUA POOL PARTY : A lively water workout set to feel-good music and easy-to-follow movements. Splash, sway, and move through playful routines that keep your heart pumping and your mood high. The water adds natural resistance while keeping things easy on the joints, but the real secret is this: you’ll be so busy having fun that you might forget you’re exercising at all.
BODY BLAST & DRUMMING: This unique class blends traditional aquatic fitness with rhythmic drumming patterns to keep the workout engaging, motivating, and fun. Expect a mix of cardio bursts, muscle-toning movements, and energetic beats that will keep you moving from start to finish.
CARDIO KICK: Make waves with high-energy aquatic kickboxing routines that build strength, torch calories, and improve cardiovascular fitness - all in a low-impact water environment.
CARDIO STRETCH: This class starts off with high energy cardio followed by stretching to increase blood flow and stability.
CIRCUIT CITY: Rotate through a variety of timed exercise stations featuring low-impact movements that target cardio, strength, core, balance, and endurance. Participants can work at their own pace while enjoying nostalgic musical selections that make the workout both motivating and fun!
FLOAT & FLEXT: Relax, stretch, and restore in Float & Flex, a gentle aquatic class designed to improve flexibility, mobility, and overall body relaxation. Using the natural buoyancy of the water, participants will move through a series of slow, controlled stretches and light movements that help release tension, improve range of motion, and support joint health.
FLOWING AI CHI: Find balance, relaxation, and gentle strength in Flowing Ai Chi, a low-impact aquatic fitness class inspired by the slow, controlled movements of Tai Chi. This class combines deep breathing with flowing motions designed to improve flexibility, posture, balance, and overall body awareness.
INSTRUCTOR'S CHOICE: put your faith in Georgina on Wednesday evenings, as it’s instructor’s choice! This class includes whatever Georgina feels like doing that evening, but it’s still sure to be a good workout and a great time!
MOVE & GROOVE FUSION: Turn up the energy and make a splash in Move & Groove Fusion, a fun and dynamic aquatic fitness class that blends upbeat cardio, rhythmic movement, and strength training in the water. Set to motivating music, this class combines a variety of aquatic exercises to keep you moving, grooving, and smiling from start to finish.
NOODING AROUND: Pool noodles aren’t just for kids! Join this fun-filled workout to make use of those colorful foamies!
POWER HOUR/KICK & STRETCH: A dynamic blend of cardio kickboxing and flexibility training, this class boosts endurance and finishes with deep stretching to promote recovery and mobility.
SPLASH SURPRISE - ANYTHING GOES!: No set routine. No repeats. Just whatever Roxanne feels inspired to teach that morning! From cardio bursts to focused core work, strength training, circuits, stretches, Tabata rounds or even a lazy river trip, every class is a new adventure!
S'WET TM SHALLOW ( Structured Water Exercise Training) : A fun, high-energy workout designed to challenge participants while keeping safety and proper form front and center. The class blends H.I.I.T., strength training, and advanced cardio segments to create a powerful, full-body workout in the water.
S'WET TM SILVER : Improve strength, balance, and endurance by combining joint mobility, functional training for activities of daily living (ADLs), and low-/high-intensity intervals—designed for active older adults, seasoned athletes, and anyone who’s looking for a supportive way to stay strong and moving in the water.
Meet Our Instructors
Georgina started her journey 33 years ago by taking a step aerobics class and falling in love with fitness. Within those years, she has trained and been certified in a variety of specialties including group ex, strength, and endurance training, Piyo, personal training and of course… Aquatic Fitness. After subbing in for an aquatic aerobics class, Georgina found her true passion and immediately sought out and completed an ACE certification. Even while working in her full-time career as an insurance agent, she always found time to teach. Her mindset is always geared towards having fun while working out. Georgina has been on board with the Romeoville Aquatic Center since day one and have an array of classes. Her offerings range from low impact to high intensity, offering something for anyone and everyone. Her fitness philosophy is that exercise should be regarded as a tribute to the mind, body and soul. Georgina is the proud mother of her son, William Joseph, who started this fitness journey right by her side. As just a toddler, he would accompany her to classes, always being her biggest supporter.
Roxanne, a Romeoville resident since 2018, joined the Aquatic Center when it opened to support her recovery from knee surgery in 2019 and manage Type 2 diabetes. What began as a personal health journey soon grew into a passion for aquatic fitness. Through weekly classes, she lost 35 pounds, strengthened her knees, and significantly improved her A1C levels.
Inspired and mentored by instructor Georgina, Roxanne transitioned from dedicated participant to instructor in 2024. She became a certified aquatic fitness instructor through the Aquatic Exercise Association (AEA), the global leader in aquatic fitness education.
While recovering from hand and knee surgeries in 2025 due to osteoarthritis, she earned additional certifications as a S’WET™ Shallow Water Instructor, S’WET™ Silver Instructor, and AEA Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program Leader. After a total knee replacement in December 2025, she will return to instructing in April 2026.
Roxanne and her husband, Ray (a fellow member and proud supporter), have been married 48 years. She’s a proud mom of four, Nana to nine, and enjoys gardening to classic 70s and 80s tunes.
