Contribute to Romeoville History

Romeoville history needs you! We are on the lookout for documents, photos, and videos from Romeoville’s past. Scenes around town, businesses and streets, neighborhoods and schools. Show us your family trip to Romeo Beach, you and your friends at RomeoFest, or trick-or-treating at Safety Town. Help us rediscover and preserve Romeoville’s history.

Materials should be appropriate for a public audience, show individuals or locations in or related to Romeoville, and not contain any content that is defamatory or inappropriate for Village communications.

Submitting Materials

Email documents and photos to marketing@romeoville.org . If you have video files, please email marketing@romeoville.org to determine the best way to send it over. You can drop off your physical materials (documents, photos, VHS tapes) at the front desk of Village Hall (1050 W. Romeo Road). When dropping off materials, please include your name, phone number, and email so that we can return your materials once digitation is complete.

We take great care in handling all materials, but some older or fragile items may not be suitable for scanning. Similarly, the digitization of VHS tapes is not guaranteed due to possible tape degradation.

The Village is not liable for damage that may occur due to the pre-existing fragility of materials.

Publicity Release and Usage Permission

Please ensure you have permission from any identifiable individuals in the materials before submission. By sharing your photos and videos, you give the Village of Romeoville permission to:

Use your name, likeness, image, voice, and/or appearance as such may be embodied in any pictures, photos, video recordings, audiotapes, digital images, and the like, taken or made on behalf of the Village of Romeoville activities.

Retain ownership of such pictures, including the entire copyright, and may use them for any purpose consistent with the Village of Romeoville’s missions. The uses include, but are not limited to, illustrations, bulletins, exhibitions, videotapes, reprints, reproductions, publications, advertisements, and any promotional or educational materials in any medium now known or later developed, including the Internet.

Thank you for your contribution! It may assist us in expanding our history section , in the writing of a new article , or in some other future project.
