Ride Around Town
Romeoville's Ride Around Town program lets you relax while we do the driving! Romeoville residents can utilize this service for rides within a ten mile radius of Romeoville for various appointments, shopping, or dining. Only available for Romeoville residents.
Appointments must be made a minimum of 48 hours in advance and are taken on a first come, first serve basis. Medical appointments can be booked as far as a month in advance while non-medical appointments can be booked a week in advance.

Destinations must be within a 10 mile radius of the Recreation Center.
All riders 3 years and up must pay.
Senior Fee: Age 60 years and up.
Available for Romeoville Residents Only.

Rider Responsibilities
- Riders must call the Recreation Center to set up an account in Rec Trac and get registered in our system for Ride Around Town.
- Riders must be able to travel to and from their door to the vehicle on their own and board the vehicle on their own. Drivers cannot physically assist riders.
- Wheelchair users must be able to get on and off the lift/ramp without assistance from the driver and must board facing away from the bus. Drivers will lock down the chair only.

- Riders must handle their own personal bags and belongings during pick-up and drop-off. Riders can carry on/off no more than six bags.
- Riders may not sit in the front row of the vehicle or in the front passenger seat.
- For safety reasons, driver has the right to refuse to a rider who is visibly sick.
- Payment for rides are made by our new reloadable punch pass in $20 increments. Each punch equals $1.
- Payment options for purchasing or reloading a punch pass:
- Credit card over the phone by calling the Rec Department 815-886-6222.
- Cash/check given to the driver.
- In person at the Recreation Center during open hours.
- Appointment availability will be limited due to additional time needed to clean the vehicle in between riders.
- Appointments must be made 48 hours in advance by calling the Recreation Department 815-886-6222. Voicemail messages will not be accepted for appointments. Please call for ride booking timeline.
- Riders must be ready within 15 minutes of pickup time or pickup will need to be rescheduled.
- Rides can only be made for essential trips i.e.; medical (routine), grocery store, employment, hair. Rides cannot be booked for doctor/hospital visits for a rider who is sick. The Recreation Department reserves the right to deny any appointment to and from a location that is not deemed essential.
- Seat belt must be worn at all times.
- The following is not allowed on the vehicles: eating, drinking, standing while vehicle is moving, or abusive language.
- Please do not leave any garbage on the bus, riders must take garbage with them.
- Riders are expected to be courteous to others.
- Riders 17 years old and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, 18 years and older.
- Riders must call within 24 hours to cancel an appointment or they will still be charged for the ride.
