Village Trustee Ken Griffin

Ken Griffin has served as a Village trustee in Romeoville since 2011.

Ken is a graduate of Northern Illinois University and completed graduate coursework at Loyola University. Later, professional development courses were taken at MIT and the University of Michigan Graduate School of Business. Ken's career included management positions at AT&T Bell Laboratories, where he retired from in 2001. His career focus was in the areas of sales management, government, and external affairs. 

Both in Romeoville and formerly in Lemont, Ken has a long history of volunteer work. He is a past president of the Lemont Chamber of Commerce, past president of the Lemont Lions Club, and headed the St. Alphonsus Church's Parish Council. He also served on Chicago Cardinal Francis George’s council as the Chair of the Archdiocese of Chicago Commission on Human Concerns. 

Ken proudly served in Vietnam with the US Navy. He is a lifetime member of the Veteran's of Foreign Wars and a member of Romeoville American Legion Post 52. He is on the Board of the Disabled Veterans Golf Outing where he volunteers each year. He is active in the Grand Haven Civic Club, presently as the president. In addition to his volunteer work, Ken is has been a long-time substitute teacher in Romeoville and nearby communities. He also is a member of the Romeoville Historical Society and the Hampton Park SAC.  

As a Village trustee, Ken serves on the economic development commission and the Romeoville Veterans Commission.  In 2018, Ken was elected Chair of the Lockport Township Democratic Organization. He contributes to Romeoville schools as a board member of the Valley View School District Educational Enrichment Foundation. For the Illinois Municipal League, Ken serves as a member of the Land Use Committee and has moderated sessions for multiple speakers at the annual Illinois Municipal League Conference.

 Ken has been married to his wife Jan for 50 years. Their son Brian and his wife Marianne live in Chicago with their three grandchildren, John, Anne and Daniel.
