Basketball Showdown

Liberty Christian School is excited to host a Basketball Showdown between the Romeoville Police and Fire Departments. To attend this event, you must purchase a ticket for $10 (which is also your food voucher for the hot dog dinner.) Your ticket also gives you 3 raffle tickets for a chance to win prizes. Tickets may be purchased in advance in the office or at the door. Limited seating! Full gym is expected, so get your tickets early! Concessions will also be available for additional purchase.  Don't miss our Half-time Dad Olympics! Dads will be dressed in inflatable costumes and will compete in various games. Join The Conservation Foundation and Friends of O’Hara Woods volunteers to improve the ecological health of this State Nature Preserve. Work may include trash clean-up, removal of invasive trees and shrubs, and creating/burning brush piles. Plan to work off trail. Please dress for the weather and conditions, which includes long pants, long-sleeves, and sturdy shoes. Bring a water bottle and work gloves if you have them. Safety glasses, extra gloves and tools will be provided. Please meet in the parking lot at the end of Beverly J. Griffin Drive, on the east end of the preserve. How can you identify art or writing that is AI-generated? What are the benefits to using ChatGPT, and what are its limitations? Explore 60+ crafters and vendors, enter our 50/50 split-the-pot raffle, enjoy great food, and catch live performances from student musicians.  All proceeds support the Lukancic Middle School Band Boosters.

Start your morning with a delicious cup of bird-friendly coffee and a light treat as we welcome spring migration! After a brief introduction, we’ll explore the trails at Isle a la Cache in search of colorful warblers heading north. Then join Greg DuBois for an engaging talk on how the coffee we drink can help protect migratory birds through the Smithsonian Bird Friendly certified coffee program.
