Garbage Collection

Romeoville residents can access information regarding trash, recycling, yard waste and bulky collection as well as pick up schedule and holiday schedule right on the Waste Management website by clicking here. For collection of big, bulky items, you need to create an account on their site and submit a bulk item pickup.

Each residence will be provided with a 96-gallon cart and senior citizens will receive a 64 gallon cart. Residential rubbish is collected once a week from the front curb of each residence. Rubbish should be placed at the curb no more than 24 hours prior to your normal pick up schedule (PDF) . Yard waste must be put in biodegradable bags only and no bag may exceed 50 pounds.

If it cannot be disposed of via regular trash pickup and if the At Your Door service won’t take it, you may need to bring your item to the nearest hazardous household waste facility, which is located at 156 Fort Hill Drive in Naperville. Please visit the link below for hours of operation and drop off instructions. Details can be found here.

Christmas Tree Pickup

Be sure the tree is bare: no lights, ornaments, etc. Also, be sure the tree is cut down to 4 ft. or smaller. After that, just put the tree on the curb on your garbage pickup day. There is no cutoff date for Christmas tree pickup.
