Discounts

Water/Sewer/Trash: Seniors (62 and older) who own their home are entitled to a 10% rate reduction on water and sewer usage up to 8,000 gallons. They can also qualify for a trash discount of $2.00 per month. Proof of age is required. Complete the Senior Citizen Discount form to receive the senior citizen discount. The Senior Citizen Discount form is available at Romeoville Village Hall or by clicking here.

Refuse Discount Program: If the property will be vacant for 5 consecutive weeks or more, Seniors may qualify for the refuse discount program. Qualifications are as follows:

• The homeowner must complete and submit the Refuse Discount Form prior to the start of the vacancy.
• A water meter reading must be scheduled by calling the Utility Billing Department at 815-886-7212 prior to the start of the vacancy and upon return schedule another read for the final date of the vacancy.
• If there is water usage of more than 1,000 gallons during the vacancy period, a refuse credit will not be issued. 
• The refuse credit will be prorated for the days of the vacancy and the refuse discount credit adjustment will then be applied to the utility account once resident returns to the home.
• Complete and submit the  Refuse Discount Program Application .
