Divisions

The Romeoville Fire Department is organized into five divisions, each responsible for a distinct area of departmental operations:

  • Fire Prevention
  • Operations
  • Support Services
  • Shift

Responsibilities

The Romeoville Fire Department holds a fire insurance classification of 2 within the Village — a designation that reflects the department’s high level of training, equipment, and operational readiness. The department provides a wide range of community services, including CPR certification courses and Community Education programs. Additionally, the department conducts over 1,000 fire inspections annually throughout the business community, public buildings, and houses of worship. Department Staff

The Romeoville Fire Department consists of 42 highly trained, dedicated professionals providing fire suppression, emergency medical, and special rescue services to the community.

The department's senior leadership team includes:

Administrative Support

The senior staff is supported by: 

  • Executive Assistant

Shift Operations

The department operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Each shift is led by a Battalion Chief and includes Lieutenants and Firefighter/Paramedics staffing the following apparatus:

  • 2 Fire Engines
  • 1 Ladder Truck
  • 2 Advanced Life Support (ALS) Ambulances

The department is composed of a mix of full-time career personnel and part-time personnel. All senior staff positions are filled by full-time career employees.
